Buckingham County rolls past Amelia

Buckingham certainly knows how to bounce back.

Two weeks after falling to Appomattox at home, the Knights took to the ground and rolled to a 50-20 win in their James River District opener against Amelia.

Leon Ragland and Kenneth Johnson carried the load, with Ragland piling up 168 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries while Johnson carried 18 times for 149 yards and four touchdowns in the rout.

The Knights finished with negative one yards passing, but the ground assault made sure it didn’t matter as Buckingham powered past the Raiders.

Buckingham will try and keep the momentum going Friday against a Bluestone team that played Goochland tough this week.
