Albemarle baseball blows past Charlottesville

Albemarle’s baseball team stepped out of Commonwealth District play Monday night and made short work of Charlottesville High with a 19-1 five-inning, run-rule victory over the Black Knights.

Khalil Reid picked up the win on the mound for the Patriots and Terrence White pitched a scoreless fifth inning.

Lee Carneal was 4 for 5 with a home run. Timmy Aker went 3 for 4 with a grand slam and Robert Thomas added two hits.

The Patriots now sit at 8-4 overall and 4-4 in the Commonwealth. Albemarle takes on Massaponax Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
