After absorbing a shutout loss at the hands of rival Western Albemarle Tuesday, Albemarle’s baseball team needed to bounce back against Powhatan.
That wasn’t a problem as the Patriots beat Powhatan 8-5 Thursday night to pick up a critical Jefferson District victory on the road.
D.G. Archer went 5 for 5 for the Patriots at the plate while Ty Pittman had three hits and picked up the win on the mound in relief.
The Patriots will try and build on that momentum next Tuesday when they take on Charlottesville at CHS.
