Predictably, Taylor Boyers had another double double Thursday night.
But this time it earned the Buckingham County senior a trip to the state quarterfinals.
Boyers poured in 17 points while going 11-for-19 at the free throw line and pulling down 10 rebounds as the Knights beat Clarke County 61-56 at Cumberland High in the Region B, Division 2 semifinals.
Kevin Bolden also posted a double double for the Knights with 14 points and 12 rebounds. The junior was also a force defensively with five blocks.
Tarian Ayers finished with 11 points and eight rebounds of his own. Steady senior point guard B.J. Jones had five steals and five assists to go with seven points.
