Charlottesville hockey blows past Powhatan

Charlottesville High’s field hockey team can get it done on the road too.

The Black Knights knocked off Powhatan 4-0 to pick another Jefferson District win and move to 3-0-1 on the season.

The Black Knights got two goals each from Kendall Ballard and Nina Griffin and Ballard had an impact on all four goals with a pair of assists on Griffin’s tallies. Pansy Schulman and Mia Garland assisted on Ballard’s goals.

Joanna Kammauff, Charlottesville’s goalie, had one save in the second half and Sophie Pugh-Sellers had a big defensive save in the second half.

The Black Knights now get a week-long break before playing back-to-back-to-back games against Louisa, Eastern View and Monticello in the middle of next week.
