Charlottesville hockey shuts out Powhatan

Charlottesville High didn’t waste any time welcoming Powhatan into the Jefferson District in the Indians first ever JD field hockey contest.

The Black Knights shut out Powhatan 3-0 to move to 1-0 in Jefferson play.

Kendall Ballard led the way with a pair of goals and an assist while Maddy Eure picked up the third goal.

Joanna Kammauff and Kate Coleman handled the duties in the cage for the Black Knights and combined for six total saves. Neal Ackerman also made a save from her spot on defense.
