The Falcon Club held its 58th annual Falcon Club Sports Banquet Sunday night and the club handed out a slew of awards at the Elks Lodge in Charlottesville.
The Thomas Jefferson Youth Football League’s Chris Haskins earned the Falcon Club’s nod for contribution to youth football. The Darden Rowe Citizenship award went to William Monroe Josh Savouigh. The Ralph Law Courage Award went to Woodberry Forest quarterback Jacob Rainey.
The Harry Martin Memorial Trophy for best public school coach went to Monticello’s Rodney Redd. The Walter Bickers memorial trophy for best private school coach went to Blue Ridge coach Orlando Patterson. The Carl Deane Sportsmanship Team award for sportsmanship went to the Covenant School. The Gene Brown Memorial Leadership Award goes to Fluvanna County’s Dashon Tibbs. Kent Henry won the public school MVP while Shawn Steen won the private school MVP nod.
The Club also hands out individual awards to two members of each team for student athlete accomplishment and most valuable player.
