Flucos head football coach Redd steps down

As originally reported by FlucoBlog.com, Rodney Redd has resigned from Fluvanna County High.

Fluvanna County athletic director Scott Morris confirmed via email that Redd, the head football coach, has stepped down to pursue other opportunities. Redd completed his first year at Fluvanna this year, leading the Flucos to a 3-7 record, a mirror of their 2008 record before Redd arrived.

Redd left to “pursue other directions” according to Morris. Morris also indicated that they will begin the process to find a replacement immediately.

In the four years before Redd taking the job Fluvanna went 11-29. Redd was a critical member of the defensive staff at Monticello during the Mustangs’ back-to-back state tournament runs including the 2007 Group AA, Division 3 state title squad.

More to come as this story develops.
