Fluvanna’s Maddy Kline named Under Armour All-American in volleyball

Fluvanna County volleyball’s Maddy Kline was recently named an honorable mention Under Armour All-American by Under Armour and the American Volleyball Coaches Association, one of just three Virginia players to earn the award.

Kline, who led the Flucos to the Jefferson District regular season and Conference 23 titles was one of just three players to earn the honor in the state of Virginia and the Fluvanna program’s first ever honoree. Kline is headed to UNC-Wilmington and is signing this afternoon at Fluvanna County High. She accounted for 366 kills this year on 580 attempts, giving her a kill percentage of 63%. She also put together 124 aces and a whopping 322 digs. She set a new school record for kills in a match with 26 against Albemarle earlier this year.

Fluvanna’s season ended Tuesday night at the hands of James Wood, a squad that includes one of the other three Virgnians to earn an All-American nod, Katie Houser, a Notre Dame commit. Hannah Vandegrift of Loudoun County rounded out the Virginia trio. All three players are in the Region 4A North.
