Gray shines as Blue Ridge shuts out VES

Blue Ridge’s Lance Gray got going in a big way Saturday as the Barons’ rolled 39-0 over Virginia Episcopal.

Gray provided a consistent dual threat presence at quarterback, throwing for 110 yards and three touchdowns on 8-for-14 passing while also rushing for 41 yards on seven touches. Gray also co-led the Barons defensively with 10 tackles (nine of them solo) with Brandon Rose also coming up with 10 stops.

Michael Khalifeh was Gray’s favorite target as the wideout finished with 54 yards on four catches. Mayn Francisco balanced the rushing attack with 78 yards on 15 carries.

Justin Dennis and Shawn Steen each came with interceptions. Steen had a pair of picks on the day and also recovered a fumble in addition to hitting two field goals as the Barons’ kicker. Steen and Dennis both posted defensive scores.
