Louisa boys cross country wins Conference 19 title, girls advance to region

If you’re going to win a cross country meet without an individual champion, you’ve got to get it done with depth.

Louisa County’s boys did just that Thursday in the Conference 19 championships, edging out Chancellor 46-53 to pick up some hardware and earn a spot in the Region 4A East championships.

Senior James Raleigh Findley led the Lions’ charge with a third place finish in 17:33.5, and the Louisa pack came rolling in shortly thereafter when Justice Anderson took seventh, Forrest Houlgrave grabbed ninth and Dillon nelson took 10th. Chauncey Everett Robinson then rounded out the championship effort with a 17th place finish as just a freshman.

On the girls side, the Lions also picked up a berth in the region championships by virtue of a third place finish behind champion King George and runner-up Courtland. Louisa’s Sarah Seah took fourth overall and Alayna Campbell grabbed sixth place. Katelyn Wilson followed in ninth, Sydney Madison took 17th and Julia Ward finished 20th to round out the effort. Hannah Emmert and Breeana Wilson nearly scored too, finishing right behind Ward in 21st and 22nd.
