Madison football gets a homecoming win

Madison County’s offense has found its stride.

A week after smashing Luray by 41 points, the Mountaineers kept rolling with a 28-7 victory over Page with a balanced offensive attack at homecoming on Friday night.

Sophomore signal-caller Dustin Farmer tossed three touchdowns and 206 yards with a large chunk going to Travis Warren, who piled up 86 yards and a pair of scores on just three catches.

Ralph Yates had a big game for Madison (4-1) too with 116 yards from scrimmage, 74 on the ground and 42 through the air. Rashard Bolden and Maurice Gentry also got in on the action by combining for 82 yards, most of it in the passing game.

Bradley Meadows, as usual, led the Mountaineers in tackles, this time coming up with 10 stops. Yates handled double duty well with nine tackles and a sack. L.J. Ward and Clifford Fortune had a sack each.

Madison will try and make it three wins in a row Friday on the road against Stonewall Jackson Quicksburg.
