Monroe baseball tops Louisa with 5th inning rally

William Monroe and Louisa County were deadlocked going into the fifth inning, but once the Greene Dragons broke free, they were able to pick up their fourth straight Jefferson District win and sixth straight win overall with a 6-2 win over the Lions.

Jordan Gentry thew a complete game four hitter and surrendered only one earned run. With the game tied at 2-2, Monroe grabbed a 3-run lead thanks to Ryan Morris. Cody Thacker made it 6-2 in the seventh on a wild pitch. Morris had two singles on the day and accounted for three RBI.

The Dragons (7-1, 4-0 JD) travel to Manassas Park on Friday at 7 p.m.

Louisa (0-3, 0-3 JD) travels to Western Albemarle on Friday at 6 p.m.
