STAB baseball drops St. Chris

St. Anne’s-Belfield shelled St. Christopher’s, who shares a top-5 state ranking with STAB, Tuesday night to the tune of a 12-0 victory. The Saints racked up 16 hits while holding St. Christopher’s to just three hits on the night.

The win pushes STAB to 10-2 overall and 4-1 in the Prep League.

David Spinosa, who now sits at 4-0 on the season and is Columbia-bound next fall, threw all seven innings to earn the complete game shutout. He struck out 11 batters and helped his own cause at the plate with a 4-for-5 night that included three RBI and a double.

Brian Yeagle and Charlie Murray both put together a 3-for-4 outing. Murray crushed a triple in the win while Yeagle had a double and two RBI. Sheldon Shifflett got in on the mix with a 2-for-3 performance.

Brett Johnson went 2 for 4 with a homerun and an RBI while.

STAB and St. Chris will lock up again Friday night at STAB at 7:30 p.m.
