STAB baseball rolls past St. Chris

In the first of two meetings this week between St. Anne’s-Belfield and St. Christopher’s, a pair of teams that made up last years VISAA Division 1 final four, the Saints from Charlottesville trounced the Saints from Richmond, 12-0.

David Spinosa kept his perfect record intact with a complete game shutout by striking out 11 batters and surrendering only three hits to garnish his fourth win of the year. Spinosa also had a big day at the plate going 4 for 5 with three RBI and a double. Fellow senior Charlie Murray was 3 for 4 with an RBI and a triple. Brian Yeagle, also a senior, was also 3 for 4 and had a pair of RBI and a double. Junior Brett Johnson was 2 for 4 with a home run. Senior Sheldon Shifflett was 2 for 3 and had an RBI.

STAB gets another crack at St. Chris at home on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
