Western baseball stays unbeaten

Western Albemarle baseball showed no signs of slowing down after cruising to a win against cross-county rival Albemarle last week.

The Warriors blew past Louisa County 11-1 Wednesday to move to stay unbeaten at 7-0 on the year.

Jack Maynard’s offensive explosion led the way as the senior drove in seven runs on a 3-for-3 night with a double and a home run. That helped Sam Hearn settle in on the mound as the sophomore pitched a five-inning complete game, surrendering just three hits and zero walks while striking out four.

Harrison Lund and Dylan Weiss each had two hits for the Warriors. Josh Casteen finished with two RBI and triggered a double play.

The Warriors will face off against Monticello tomorrow night at 6 p.m. at Monticello. Louisa will try and bounce back at home against Chancellor.
