Western trounces Waynesboro

Western Albemarle made short work of Waynesboro Friday night, rolling 42-0 over the Little Giants to stay unbeaten on the year and keep a balanced offense clicking.

The Warriors rested most of the starters after the break, but they managed to put up big numbers before occupying the bench. Kent Henry was perfect from a completion percentage standpoint with a 9 for 9 outing for 197 yards and three touchdowns. He rushed for another 150 yards and three touchdowns on just six touches, averaging 25 yards per carry.

Steven Hearn eventually took over for Henry as the backup quarterback in the second half, but before he stepped behind center, he hauled in 105 yards and a touchdown on three catches at wideout. Henry also found Daniel Kuzjak repeatedly, with three catches for 81 yards and a touchdown.

The Warriors jump back into Jefferson District play next week as they head to Fluvanna County for a road test against the Flucos.
