Western Albemarle girls lacrosse finished off its pre-spring break schedule with a flourish Tuesday night, rolling 19-0 past a fledgling Goochland program in Western’s home opener.

The Warriors spread the scoring well, with seven different players notching multiple goals and got some young players in the mix in a big way.

Freshman Taylor Florin notched a hat trick and dished out two assists while sophomore Reeve Goldstein scored twice and dished out three assists. Sophomore Maggie Craytor had a hat trick and freshman McLean Stokes scored twice. Freshman Gigi Hathaway also scored twice to round out the young players’ major offensive contributions. Goldstein and Stokes also chipped in three draw controls.

Senior Mallory Greene and junior Meg Hundley each finished with two goals on the night. Greene and Hundley tied for a team-high four draw controls with Hundley also scooping up three ground balls and Greene forcing a pair of turnovers. Junior Percy Mascotte and Jasmine Erkel scored once with Mascotte also grabbing three draw controls.

The Warriors are off for spring break and return April 11 for a critical home clash with Albemarle. The Bulldogs also take a break before traveling to Mechanicsville, also on April 11.
