Champs: Covenant volleyball wins Blue Ridge Conference regular season title

Covenant volleyball had to endure an absolutely wild game two to get there, but the Eagles picked up a 3-0 sweep over Roanoke Catholic to earn a Blue Ridge Conference regular season championship.

 

The win over Roanoke Catholic completes an undefeated run in Blue Ridge Conference play for the Eagles. 

 

Covenant won game one 25-19 and then engaged in a thrilling game two, eventually winning the marathon set 32-30. Game three proved much more manageable as Covenant cruised 25-13. 

 

Junior Katie Lowe led the offensive attack with 14 kills while Cara Hamil notched 12 kills and Kerrigan Poindexter finished with four kills. Hamil had a big defensive night with 15 digs and Poindexter chipped in nine.

 

The Eagles were strong at the service line with London Constant, Delaney Poindexter and Hamil each finishing with three aces. Constant also had 29 assists at setter. 

 

Covenant will take on Veritas Friday night.
