The Virginia Interscholastic Association Initiative Team will convene on Saturday July 26 at noon in the fellowship hall of the Zion Union Baptist Church in Charlottesville. Recently formed with the intent on building a VIA hall of fame at Virginia State University, the VIAIT is the beginning stages of making just that happen.
The group’s overall mission is to “to honor the rich heritage and legacy of the African-Americans in sports, academics, law, politics, music and other achievements under the direction of the Virginia Interscholastic Association from 1954 to 1970.”
